GENERAL INFORMATION
The cost of lunch is $2.50.
Students who bring lunch from home may purchase a milk for 50 cents. All meals served are in compliance with the current USDA regulations under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.
All students receive a lesson on cafeteria behavior on the first day of school. Therefore, they are expected to conduct themselves properly at lunch and obey the cafeteria aides. No bottles or cans of soda are permitted. All foods much be eaten in the cafeteria and may not be taken back to the classroom or on the school bus.
PAYING BY CHECK
Parents are strongly encouraged to pay by check. This eliminates any problems for students who forget or lose their money. Prepayment also speeds up the lunch line, giving students more time to eat.
Write your child's name, teacher, school and amount to be applied to his/her account on the envelope. Please make checks payable to Lower Township Cafeteria Fund.

BREAKFAST PROGRAM
Breakfast is provided every morning to your child at no charge. Included in this meal are milk, 100% juice, cheese stick, fruit, whole grain muffin or whole grain cereal. We hope your child participates in this program.
Studies show that children who eat breakfast do better in school.
CREDIT POLICY
Children do forget their lunch money at times. When this happens, they may charge their lunch. This charge is expected to be paid the next school day at the daily rate*. This privilege is not to be used as a credit line. Please do not take advantage of this policy. Children with outstanding charges may not purchase snacks until all charges have been paid. Children owing more than $15.00 will only be permitted to purchase the Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Lunch until all charges are paid.
APPLICATIONS FOR FREE OR REDUCED PRICE LUNCHES
Eligibility applications for the National School Lunch Program will be distributed at the beginning of the school year. These applications must be completed and returned to school as quickly as possible.
If you qualify for this program, you will be notified by the Food Service Department. Children who qualify for free lunch will receive a free lunch. Those who qualify for reduced benefits will be charged $.40 per lunch.
You can be assured that the names of children receiving these benefits will remain confidential. We have many safeguards in place to protect their privacy.
You may apply for benefits at anytime throughout the school year.

The district's Food Service Department provides nutritional hot and cold lunches in each school.
Prepayment for lunches will be collected the first day of each week in your child's classroom.
